Vintage Ansonia Clock Key 3.5Mm – Original Vintage Winding Key

This vintage Ansonia clock key 3.5mm is an original older winding key intended for a compatible square clock winding arbor. Original period keys are useful in sympathetic restorations because they preserve more of the character and authenticity of an antique clock than a modern generic replacement.

A correctly sized winding key should fit the square arbor securely with minimal play. A loose key can slip and round the arbor corners, while an undersized key may not fit at all. For this reason, the internal square opening is more important than appearance when choosing a replacement.
