Both the decorative clock case and violinist figure are marked “Made in Italy”, while the mechanical clock movement is marked “Made in Germany”. This attractive combination of Italian decorative craftsmanship and German mechanical clockmaking creates a distinctive vintage mantel clock with considerable decorative appeal.

The violinist is portrayed in traditional period costume holding his violin and bow, while the clock is housed within an elaborate gilt case decorated with scrolling floral and Rococo-inspired details. The pierced decorative centre of the dial and ornate hands further enhance its traditional European appearance.
