Description

Hermle 141-071 Clock Movement – New Old Stock 14-Day Bim Bam Strike

The Hermle 141-071 is a genuine German-made mechanical clock movement designed for regulator and other compatible pendulum clocks. This example is New Old Stock (NOS), providing an excellent opportunity to obtain an unused original Hermle mechanical movement that has become increasingly difficult to find.

This is a traditional spring-wound 14-day movement with a 25 cm pendulum length and Bim Bam strike mechanism.

Manufactured in Germany by Hermle, the 141-071 is suitable for clock repair, restoration and replacement where the original movement and specifications are compatible.

Hermle 141-071 Replacement Movement

The Hermle 141-071 clock movement belongs to Hermle’s well-known 141 series of mechanical regulator movements.

It is closely related to the Hermle 141-041. The principal difference between these versions is the strike and hammer arrangement. The 141-071 is configured for a rear bell strike, while the 141-041 version is associated with a round gong arrangement.

When replacing an existing clock movement, always check the calibre number stamped on the back plate of your original movement before ordering.

If your movement is marked 141-071, compare the remaining specifications and dimensions below to confirm compatibility.

14-Day Mechanical Movement

One of the useful features of the Hermle 141-071 is its approximately 14-day running duration.

The movement is powered by traditional mainsprings and requires mechanical winding. Once fully wound, it is designed to operate for approximately two weeks before requiring rewinding.

This makes it particularly suitable for traditional mechanical regulator clocks where a longer running duration is preferred.

Traditional Bim Bam Strike

The movement features a traditional Bim Bam strike mechanism.

It uses two hammers and strikes at half-hour intervals, providing the characteristic two-tone Bim Bam sound associated with many traditional European regulator and mantel clocks.

The 141-071 configuration is designed with the bell arrangement positioned at the rear of the movement.

Pendulum Movement

This version of the Hermle 141-071 is designed for use with a 25 cm pendulum length.

Correct pendulum specification is important for accurate timekeeping, so please check your existing clock carefully before purchasing a replacement movement.

New Old Stock Hermle Movement

This Hermle 141-071 is New Old Stock rather than a used or rebuilt movement.

New Old Stock clock movements are unused older-production movements that have remained in storage. They can be particularly desirable for clockmakers and restorers who wish to retain a traditional mechanical movement rather than replacing an original clock with a modern quartz conversion.

Because NOS items have been stored for many years, minor cosmetic storage marks may occasionally be present. These do not indicate previous use.

Please examine the product photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.

Check Compatibility Before Purchasing

Clock movements should be selected according to the calibre number and technical specifications, rather than simply by the appearance or manufacturer name of the clock case.

Before purchasing, please compare your existing movement with this Hermle 141-071, particularly the movement number, dimensions, pendulum length, handshaft arrangement, winding positions, hammer configuration and mounting system.

If you are uncertain whether this movement will fit your clock, please contact us with clear photographs of the front and back of your existing movement, including all numbers and markings on the back plate.

We will be happy to assist with identification where possible.

We also have a complete kit for the Hermle 141 series, together with compatible dials and other clock movement parts. Please see our other listings for suitable components.
